There's never a perfect time for an injury to occur on the farm, but most producers would tell you that calving and planting season are less than ideal. This was the reality facing Rodney and Vicki Meckle in the spring of 2024, when Rodney sustained a broken ankle while feeding his cows. With help from their son and grandkids, the Meckles were able to navigate a stressful calving season. Their son provided additional support by contacting Farm Rescue to assist with the family's seeding work. Volunteers and equipment soon arrived to plant wheat and oats, while Rodney continued his recovery.
