John Thomas is proud to carry on the tradition of farming that his family began more than a century ago, near Dundas, MN. This way of life includes its fair share of challenges, but a longtime battle with neuropathy presented additional hurdles for John. Just over a decade after the amputation of his right leg, worsening health concerns led to a second leg amputation in the summer of 2023. John's recovery placed a heavier burden on his family with harvest on the horizon. Thanks to a referral from local Anheuser-Busch distributor, College City Beverage, the Thomases were placed in contact with Farm Rescue. Our volunteers and equipment were soon dispatched to assist with the family's soybean harvest, allowing John to focus on his recovery and adjust to life as a double amputee.
