Injuries on the farm happen all too often and depending on their severity, these mishaps can have a major impact on operations. This was the case for Jeff and Missy Axt, when an unexpected shoulder injury greatly-limited Jeff's ability to carry out his necessary farm work. After suffering through the pain for several months, he finally consulted a doctor who stressed the need for immediate surgery to partially-repair the damage to his rotator cuff. Following surgery, the Axts began a busy calving season with Missy and their twin daughters playing a much larger role. Jeff continued working (literally, single-handedly), but knew that planting season would bring additional challenges. Friends and neighbors in the area had received support from Farm Rescue in years past, so the Axts were very familiar with the organization. As their difficult calving season neared its end, they decided it was time to apply for assistance. Farm Rescue was honored to provide volunteers and equipment to help seed the Axts' wheat crop, providing the opportunity for Jeff to focus on his recovery.
