The limited rain has allowed Pender-area farmer Jeff Baker to complete soybean planting already, and he has a healthy chunk of corn planting done as well.
Baker has a very curious mind when it comes to agronomy, so he conducts his own trials. His research trials range from genetics, fertilizers and biologicals to planter attachments and fungicide timing.
Baker said he's less than a week from finishing planting, however, he would welcome a delay if it brought some rain with it.
